Conclusion.and.Future.Works.
This Chapter introduced WSGrid and GateService. WSGrid contains a set of Web services
in order to enable computational grid on a server. A WSGrid federation can be composed
of nodes. Each node in the federation has equal position and privilege. There is no central
administrative component in the system. Thus, a WSGrid federation is a fully distributed
grid system. A user who is legitimate on one or more WSGrid-enabled nodes can request
services to transfer files from one node to another or submit jobs or workflows on a different
location. The submitted task can then request other services. However, WSGrid is more than
that. Several supportive services are provided in WSGrid. For instance, a user can work
on a blank computer (such as a desktop in an Internet Caf?©, without WSGrid-enabled) to
access a WSGrid node. Through the WWW-based interface, he can still access the WSGrid
services on a WSGrid workstation. As a traveller, he might submit and activate a longrunning
task, and then leave it from time to time. Once returning online, he can access a
Logging Service which records every message to the user. This Logging Service can act as
a notification service. Thus, a user does not have to stay online for results, and no message
will be missing.
