From 1995 to 2003, he was an assistant professor at his home university. In 2003,
he became an associate professor, teaching distributed systems. Besides his activity as
professor, he is a researcher at the Instituto Tecnol??gico de Inform??tica (Valencia) where
he leads the Reliable Systems Group. His research interests include distributed systems,
high availability, and computer security, and he has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed
technical papers.
Jorge.Marx.G??mez.studied computer engineering and industrial engineering at the University
of Applied Science of Berlin (Technische Fachhochschule). He was a lecturer and
researcher at the Otto-von-Guericke-Universit?¤t Magdeburg, where he also obtained a PhD
degree in business information systems with the work, ???Computer-Based Approaches to
Forecast Returns of Scrapped Products to Recycling???. In 2004, he received his habilitation
for the work, ???Automated Environmental Reporting through Material Flow Networks??? at the
Otto-von-Guericke-Universit?¤t Magdeburg. From 2002 to 2003, he was a visiting professor
for business informatics at the Technical University of Clausthal. In 2004, he became a full
professor of business information systems at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg,
Germany.
