"Schenck. Peter John everybody calls him."
"What's he doing? What's the trouble with him?"
"Well, to be honest, he's drinking hard."
"Wasn't he one of the fellows who was down, with the typhoid when I had
it?"
"Yes."
"An awkward, ungainly, redheaded fellow?"
"That's the one."
"What have you been doing for him?"
"Everything I could think of, but nothing seems to hold.
